Platypus ReproductionThe platypus is one of the only two mammals (the echidna is the other) that lay eggs. Mating occurs between June and October. The platypus builds a nest and lays 1-3 eggs. These eggs are incubated for 12-14 days and the hatched young are blind and hairless. They are fed by the mother's milk.
